Repetitive Strain Injury affects an estimated 500,000 people in the UK - driven by computer use, manual work, and repetitive sport. The pain in your wrists, forearms, elbows, shoulders, and neck is not just inflammation - it is a progressive tissue degeneration that rest alone cannot fix. At R1SE Sheffield, we combine Red Light Therapy, HBOT, Reformer Pilates, Hot Yoga, and Compression to address RSI at its source: repairing damaged tissue, restoring strength and flexibility to overworked structures, and correcting the postural and biomechanical patterns that caused the injury in the first place.

Modern RSI understanding has moved beyond 'overuse inflammation' to 'tendinopathy' - the tissue is not just inflamed but structurally degraded, with disorganised collagen, reduced blood supply, and impaired healing capacity. RSI (work-related upper limb disorders) affects an estimated 500,000 workers in the UK annually, with computer-related RSI accounting for over 60% of cases. It costs the UK economy over 5.4 billion pounds per year in lost productivity (HSE).

Red Light Therapy at 830nm is as effective as corticosteroid injection for lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), with the advantage of promoting tissue healing rather than weakening tendon structure (Stergioulas, 2007, Photomedicine and Laser Surgery).

Eccentric exercise (as provided by Reformer Pilates springs) is the gold standard rehabilitation for tendinopathy - it stimulates collagen realignment and tendon remodelling, producing superior long-term outcomes to rest, NSAIDs, or steroid injection (Alfredson et al., British Journal of Sports Medicine).
